At the moment I'm on vacation in the Domenican Republic with Esther.
The beach is fantastic and it feels good to relax a bit after the tour in the USA with Fugimundi. Next week I'll receive the Prins Bernhard Muziekprijs Noord Brabant in Den Bosch. I'll perform in duo with Eric Vloeimans at this event. Commissaris van de Koningin Maj-Weggen will award the prize.
One week later I'll record a new CD with Aneris. We'll record three days in the Toonzaal in Den Bosch. This venue has fantastic acoustics and the grand piano is really special..
We'll record one day with the fabulous Michael Moore on clarinet/sax as a guest, one day with the Brazilian guitarist Nelson Veras, and one day and a live concert as a trio, meaning Brice Soniano on the bass and Toma Gouband on drums/percussion.
We'll record new and older originals, perhaps some improvisation, we'll see!

Welcome
Yesterday we played our last concert of our tour in the USA.
It has been a fantastic experience, we've had a great time here,
from the tropical Miami, to the rain and snow in the woods in Vermont, to the snow and ice in Alaska, the hippies and the Pacific in Santa Cruz, our live recording in Yoshi's Oakland, the beautiful city Seattle, the undergroundscene in Detroit, the airport of Atlanta - an experience on its own - the Ethiopian food in Washington...etcetc
It was great and I hope we can do it another time!
I would like to thank Susanna who arranged this tour, everything went so smoothly, great!

Seattle, Burlington 22 Oct 2008
Hi again
Yesterday we arrived in Burlington, Vermont in the north east part of the USA.
It was a long trip from Seattle with a change in Washington. Spent the whole day in the plane, but with some spectacular views, we saw New York city in detail, and later the combination of clouds and sun gave some paradise looking atmospheres.
Vermont is a beautiful state, at the moment all the trees are red, however at the moment the weather sucks.
Before we played at the Earshot Jazz Festival in Seattle, a great city. Of all the cities we've visited so far, I have the best feeling about Seattle, lot's of rivers, mountains, nice people..
The concert went well, we've more and more embodied the music and it's easy to find eachother. We met some really friendly persons, Kathleen and Ed, and a dutch friend of Anton came to sea our concert.
I definitively hope to visit this place again in the future.
Santa Cruz, Alaska, Seattle 20 Oct 2008
Welcome,
Yesterday we arrived in Seattle in the northwest part of the USA.
We're touring with the Fugimundi trio with Eric Vloeimans, Anton Goudsmit and our tourmanager Susanna von Canon.
The tour is fantastic, we saw great places, met nice people and enjoyed to play our music.
In Oakland Yoshi's we recorded our new cd, in my memory it went very well.
And I think we caught the live vibe on this cd, with lots of improvisasion, joy and risk.
It feels good to know that we have a nice recording.
After that we played in Kuumbwa in Santa Cruz.
A fantastic club which reminds me a bit of Paradox in Tilburg (NL).
The audience was very enthusiastic and gave us a standing ovation after the first set already. We played very uninhibited, perhaps because we finished the recording.

Oakland, San Francisco and Santa Cruz 16 Oct 2008
Two days ago we recorded our CD in Yoshi's Oakland.
Yoshi's is a beautiful club in the San Francisco Bay Area.
We played two sets with the same songs and I think there were some really nice moments.
Anyway I'm very happy with the fact that we enjoyed playing there and that we caught the live-vibe on CD. The audience seemed to like it very much.
Yesterday and today we had some free time!
We went to San Francisco and did a boat excursion around the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. San Francisco is such a beautiful city where I felt at home instantly.
