Miami, Detroit and Oakland 14 Oct 2008

Yesterday we arrived in San Francisco with the Fugimundi Trio.
Today we'll play in Yoshi's Oakland where we will record a live cd for Challenge Records.

Yoshi's is one of the most famous jazz clubs in the USA and we're very much looking forward to record our new repertoire. Yesterday we went to see the club and it turned out that Bill Frisell was playing, yeah! And some days before the Wayne Shorter Quartet played in the club, so you can imagine it feels great to be able to play in a venue like Yoshi's.

Washington D.C. and Miami 10 Oct 2008

Welcome,

It's very nice to be on tour with Eric Vloeimans and Anton Goudsmit in the USA.
We are accompamied by Susan von Canon who arranged the tour.
Yesterday we played in Twins in Washington. A very tiny cozy club, runned by two Ethiopian sisters. And today we'll play in Miami where we arrived some hours ago.

I went to the beach, ran some kilometers and took a dive in the atlantic ocean.
The water temperature is fantastic, so is the weather, about 30 degrees celsius.

Tomorrow we'll play in Detroit, so we have to leave again (!) at 06:30 from the lobby.
My internal clock is a bit confused at the moment because of the time difference.

Welcome,

Next week Eric Vloeimans, Anton Goudsmit and I will go to the USA for our debut tour in America. We're very much looking forward to this event, we've prepared a totally new repertoire containing origanal compositions only. Last sunday we've played the new songs for the first time in the Chasse Theater in Breda and we were very excited about the possibilities of the music... During this tour we'll record our new CD, a live registration of our concert in Yoshi's, Oakland.

I would like to thank all the people who send me sympathetic felicitations concerning the news that I'll receive the Prins Bernard Muziekprijs Noord Brabant, thank you!

Happy to announce some double recitals with classical pianist Igor Roma from Italy.
In januari 2009 we'll play in the Beauforthuis, Austerlizt.
After that we'll record for the VPRO television Vrije Geluiden. Later that year, in november 2009, we'll play some concerts in Holland.

Welcome,

A while ago I got some great news. I'm honoured to receive the Prins Bernard
Muziekprijs Noord Brabant 2008. The prize will be awarded in the Toonzaal, Den Bosch on november the 13th and includes an amount of 10.000 euro and a sculptor made by
Tjikkie Kreuger . I'm very happy!!! I will play a duo concert with Eric Vloeimans during that evening.

For the rest still preparing a lot, for our tour with Fugimundi in the USA, and composing for my new record with my trio and the live recording with Aneris.

Locked in the attic chamber 11 Sep 2008

Welcome!

Thanks for visiting my website.
So far I regularly updated this site with news and I'll try to continue to do so.
Had a little accident with my bike. It seems to happen to all inhabitants of Amsterdam once; the tramrails didn't follow the route I preferred. But I can walk again now, although running won't be possible for a while. And that I don't like at all, normaly I run about 5 times a week, about ten/fifteen kilometers every time. After a while I got kind of addicted to this pattern, so this cold turkey made me easily irritable. So I felt a bit locked in my attic chamber. The piano happens to be in this room, so I studied really a lot.
