Welcome 27 Jun 2008

Thanks for visiting my brand new website, made by Juul Spee from Utrecht. I'm really happy with the result, so thanks Juul! From now on this website will be updated every week with news, music, videos and other stuff.

I would also like to thank Mark van Vugt for his nice photos.

At the moment I'm preparing to move to Amsterdam, where I will live together with my girlfriend Esther. I'm very much looking forward to living there; I'm sure it will give me a lot of inspiration.
A lot of the musicians I'm playing with on a regular basis are living in Amsterdam, so it's nice to be around them too.

I had a very nice time, living in Tilburg for about 12 years. With some great musical highlights in clubs like Paradox and the Voortuin. With great musicians like Mete Erker, Ferhan Otay, Jeroen van Vliet and Pascal Vermeer. Thanks guys!

So much stuff has happened lately. I'd like to give you an update on my current whereabouts.
I perform monthly with my trio in Thembi in Maastricht and in the Beauforthuis in Austerlitz.
It is a great opportunity to try out new compositions, the audience is really attentive and it always feels very comfortable to play there. We have been playing there on a regular basis for about one year now and we will continue this project next year as well.

Anton Goudsmit asked me to join his band, The Ploctones. It's a very nice band with some of Holland's finest jazzmusicians, like Martijn Vink, Efraim Trujilo and Jeroen Vierdag.
They have been playing together as a quartet for quit some time now and they've flourished into a fantastic solid group, playing mostly compositions by Anton; very joyful, danceable pieces.

Last year I was offered a carte blanche by Mundial Productions, an organisation which amongst other things promotes world music in Holland. I invited Dutch cello player Ernst Reijseger and Senegalese singer and percussionplayer Mola Sylla to play in trio: It was fantastic!
We all were so flabbergasted by the concert that we decided to form a group.
In april 2009 we will tour in the Netherlands.
