Fugimundi

Without question Fugimundi (Eric Vloeimans / Anton Goudsmit / Harmen Fraanje) is one of the most succesfull groups from the Dutch jazz scene, touring throughout the whole world.
The debutalbum Summersault was awarded with an Edison-Prize, the most prestigious award for releases in the Netherlands.
In October 2008 Fugimundi will record its second album during their North -America tour.
The live recording will take place in one of the most famous jazzclubs of the USA, Yoshi's in Oakland, California.

Trumpetplayer Eric Vloeimans, guitarist Anton Goudsmit and pianist Harmen Fraanje have been playing together for about ten years. One could say that the combination of instruments seems to be a bit strange at first sight, but for these musicians it creates a lot of space and transparency, which are major elements of the potential in which music can come to light.
Fugimundi is a group so much more driven by the specific combination of musicians than just the combination of some instruments. As Eric Vloeimans once said in an interview: 'If Harmen had been playing the accordion I still would love to play with him...'
The combination of these elastic musicians and the specific instruments gives the group a special quality..
Sometimes it resembles something like chamber music, both in sound as in the choices of the compositions, however seconds later the music might occur as a major popact performing in a full stadium.
Fugimundi has peformed all over the world, from Sint Petersburg to Bangkok, from intimate open-air festivals in the mountains of Italy to major festivals like the North Sea Jazz festival.
